We've updated our Terms of Service, effective October 27, 2026. Most of the changes are intended to make the Terms shorter, clearer, and easier to understand. We've also clarified a few provisions. Here's a summary of five key updates:
1. AI-powered features and information about you
We've clarified how AI-powered features may use information from your profile, activity, and interactions, including chats, to generate recommendations, summaries, and insights. Subject to point 2 below, some of this information may be shared with other users, even if you don't use some new AI features yourself.
2. Your AI privacy settings and paid features
You can manage certain AI-related uses of your data through your privacy settings. We've clarified that turning off some settings may affect the availability of AI-powered features, including paid features, without changing your subscription or billing.
3. Location and privacy controls
We've expanded our explanations of how location-based features work, the privacy controls available to you, and the limits of those protections. We've also clarified that some new location features may use your existing privacy settings.
4. Disappearing and unsent content
We've clarified that unsending a message or using an expiring-content feature cannot prevent someone from keeping content they've already screen-shot or otherwise saved. Grindr may also retain certain content for safety, legal, and operational purposes.
5. Dispute resolution and arbitration
We've updated certain arbitration procedures, including how similar claims are handled together. We've also clarified that amendments generally won't apply to disputes that arose before the changes and that users can opt out of material arbitration amendments within 31 [is that the right time period?] days after receiving notice, subject to the terms of the arbitration agreement.
You can review the Terms of Service for more information. If you don't agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using Grindr and close your account before they take effect.
