Stay discreet with photos “Taken on Grindr” – allowing you to prove your authenticity by sharing photos taken with an in-app camera, further verifying yourself on your profile and in your chats. Photos Taken on Grindr are designed to help increase trust in your connections without compromising your privacy.
Just open the in-app camera from your chats, or when editing your profile, and snap a picture. Any photos you take in the Grindr app will appear to other users (whether on your profile, or in your chats) with an animated Grindr badge, signaling to other users it’s you who took the photo. It’ll also show how recently this photo was taken (ie, just now, 3 months ago, etc).
As with all photos sent via chat, photos Taken on Grindr can be captured via screenshot. If you’re chatting discreetly, keep this in mind. Lastly, though this feature is designed to help identify real users, Taken on Grindr only verifies that a photo was taken by someone logged into the Grindr app. You should always follow our tips on establishing trust with your connections – and if you suspect a profile of impersonation, please report it.
