Will I lose my chats if I uninstall the app?
A common concern is whether removing the app from your phone will result in loss of history. Since your information is profile-based, deleting the Grindr app will not delete your chats. Here is how your information is handled when you uninstall the app:
Chats & Profile Photos: These are saved to your profile automatically and will reappear upon login.
Favorites & Blocks: These remain tied to your account and will stay intact.
Note: Your profile information will sync automatically after logging in as long as you continue using the same Grindr account linked to your email address.
App Deletion vs. Profile Deletion
It is important to distinguish between removing the application and closing your account:
Deleting the App: This simply removes the software from your device. Your profile and all associated data stay safe on our servers.
Deleting your Profile: If you select Delete Profile within your account settings, this action is permanent and non-recoverable. By deleting your account, any personal data will be removed from Grindr’s systems in accordance with Grindr’s Privacy Policy.
