We all know the feeling: you're swiping through Grindr, excited about the prospect of finding your next great connection. But as you scroll, you're met with profiles that just don't hit the mark. Frustrating, right?
Enter profile hides: with a tap, you can say "thanks, but no thanks" to profiles that don't spark your interest. And the best part? The more you use it, the smarter it gets – if you’ve consented to helping us improve our AI features, we’ll use your hide profile actions to help improve your grid experience.
It's not just about saying no; it's about opening the door to better yeses.
To hide a profile
- Open any profile you’ve not yet chatted with.
- Find the hide icon at the top of their profile photo.
- Tap Hide to remove this profile from your grid immediately.
Other users won’t be notified when you’ve hidden their profile, and your profile will disappear from their grid as well. If you’re an Unlimited user, hidden profiles will be replaced with a fresh profile in your grid. For Grindr Free and XTRA users, your number of accessible profiles will be reduced by the number of profiles you’ve hidden.
Unhiding profiles
You can unhide profiles from your Settings at any time.
- Head to your Settings.
- Scroll down to Security and Privacy
- Tap Unhide users, and unhide as many profiles as you’d like.
Other users won’t be notified when you’ve unhidden their profile, but your profile will reappear in their grid.
