The Grid is essentially the Grindr home page. When you open Grindr, the Grid will - by default - display the users closest to you and those using Boost. From here, you can apply Grid controls to cater your search to exactly what you’re looking for. You can use your Grid controls to filter for any combination of Tags, Filters, Fresh, and Explore. Once you’ve successfully applied a Grid control, that specific control will turn yellow to let you know it is active.

- Free users can use some combinations of Grid Controls, and can view dozens of nearby profiles.
- XTRA users can use any combination of Grid Controls and can view up to a subset of 500 profiles.
- Unlimited users can use any combination of Grid Controls and can view ALL profiles.
For You
For You is a daily set of six new profiles, curated directly for you. You'll receive a fresh set of profiles For You every day, along with a countdown timer of when your next For You profiles will refresh.

Determining profiles For You
If you’ve consented to helping us improve our AI features, you’ll be eligible to receive a curated list of profiles For You, as well as to show up on another user's list of For You profiles. To ensure quality matches, all profiles For You are in good standing (no bans, or reports of bad behavior), and are active weekly.
Every For You profile is put on a 2-day cooldown period. This cooldown period is overwritten if a user acts on the profile and another cooldown period is applied (i.e. passes or messages the user, the 2-day cooldown goes away and the 60-day cooldown is applied).
Interacting with profiles For You
Only Grindr Unlimited users can interact with their For You profiles, by sending them a message, or passing on them if you’re not interested (this will ensure they don’t appear again For You for at least 60 days).
You may see the same profile in your For You section every couple of days until you choose to interact – either by sending them a message, or passing on the profile. You’re not able to block, favorite, or send a Tap to any profiles directly from the For You section of your grid.
Popular Filter
The Popular Filter is a premium feature that lets you skip the scroll and go straight to standout profiles — the most tapped, most chatted, and most engaging people near you. It’s perfect if you want to see the best of Grindr, fast.
You’ll find Popular in your filter bar, right after Favorites and Online, and before Right Now. Use it on its own for a quick scan, or combine it with other filters (like Position, Age, or Tags) to fine-tune your search.
