Boost, Super Boost, and Mega Boost

The Boost features consist of three premium add-on services—Boost, Super Boost, and Mega Boost—designed to help you get noticed by putting your profile in the spotlight. When you activate any version of a Boost, your profile is fast-tracked to the top of the grid and promoted to an expanded radius of users. While all three features "bump" your profile to give you instant visibility, they differ in duration and targeting capabilities.

Boost

Boost helps you get noticed by putting your profile in the spotlight. When you activate a Boost, we fast-track your profile to the top of the grid for one full hour and promote you to an expanded radius of users. This gives you instant, premium visibility and helps you connect with more people nearby than ever before.

Boost is available to both free and paid Grindr users, and can be purchased at any time.

Currently, you can have Boost and Right Now active on your profile at the same time by using the Right Now + Boost feature.

Super Boost

Super Boost is an enhanced version of Boost that promotes your profile for two hours. It includes advanced controls, allowing you to target specific audiences based on your preferred age range and position.

How does Super Boost work?

When you purchase and activate Super Boost, it maximizes your visibility with these premium features:

Top-Tier Placement: Your profile is featured at the top of the grid.
Extended Duration: Enjoy 2 hours of continuous promotion.
Precision Targeting: Set your preferred age range and location.
Smart Matching: Your targeting preferences work as a soft signal to help us reach your preferred audience. Our primary goal is to maximize your total inbound connections, so rather than exclusively surfacing your profile to exact matches, we use these preferences to guide your visibility for a highly effective experience.

Note: You can update your age and position targeting preferences at any time mid-session.

Mega Boost

Similar to Boost and Super Boost, Mega Boost helps increase your visibility, but for a much longer duration and with advanced targeting options. Mega Boost allows you to bring your profile to the top of the grid for 24 hours, and you can select Age, Position, and Location preferences.

Note: You can update your Age, Position, and Location targeting preferences at any time mid-session.

How to Use Mega Boost

Select Your Targets: Before activating, choose your ideal Age, Position, and Location preferences.Launch Your
Session: Once active, your profile is instantly fast-tracked to the top of the grid.
Adjust Your Strategy: Need to cast a different net? You can update your targeting preferences mid-session at any time to ensure you're optimizing your reach.

Pro Tip: Because your targeting is locked once the session begins, double-check your preferences to ensure you're reaching exactly who you want!

How to Purchase and Activate Boost, Super Boost, or Mega Boost

Purchasing any Boost feature follows the same simple process:

Open the Grindr app and tap on your profile avatar or the lightning bolt icon on your grid.
Select your desired feature, as available: Boost, Super Boost, or Mega Boost.
Choose your targeting preferences (if using Super or Mega Boost).
Confirm your payment details on the redirected confirmation screen.

Note: Once purchased, a Boost session cannot be canceled. However, you can pause and resume your session at any time using the Boost toggle. When paused, your profile is no longer boosted, but the session timer will keep running. Additionally, targeting preferences for Super and Mega Boost can be edited mid-session.

Feature Details for Boost, Super Boost, and Mega Boost

While Boosting, both your avatar and your Viewed Me icon will be encircled in green. Tapping on either of these icons will display a countdown of the remaining time on your Boost.

Pause & Resume: You can pause and resume your Boost session at any time using the Boost toggle. Note: When paused, your profile is no longer boosted, but the session timer keeps running.

Distance view: We won’t notify anyone else when you’re Boosting, but your distance from others will be shown on your profile as normal. If you would prefer to Boost more inconspicuously, keep in mind you can always disable showing your distance to other profiles.

Purchases: There is no limit on how many times you can purchase a Boost, so feel free to Boost your profile multiple times per day, per week – the possibilities are endless. Once you’ve purchased a Boost, you won’t be able to cancel, and your profile will return to normal after the full period has elapsed.

Pricing: Pricing for Boost may fluctuate due to a variety of factors, like the current demand for Boost in your location. Plus we’re always testing out pricing for new features to make sure we’re hitting a sweet spot. We want everyone to have the best experience possible on the app, and any price fluctuation is intended to keep your grid balanced for Boosters and non-Boosters alike.

Boost, Super Boost, and Mega Boost Reports

Once any Boost session ends, a 'Boost Overview' link will appear in your grid. Tap it to view your private performance stats, including:

Total profile views received
Total new chats received
Total taps received

Your Boost report will not contain any chats or taps you’ve sent, or show the number of profiles you’ve viewed while Boosting. If you don’t have Grindr open at the moment your Boost ends, we’ll send you a notification letting you know your Boost report is ready.

Boost reports are completely private to you, and aren’t visible to anyone else on Grindr. These reports will also be included in the export you receive when you download your Grindr data.
