Boost allows you to make your profile visible to more people around you. After purchasing a Boost, we’ll elevate your profile in the Grid for one hour, promoting it to an extended radius of profiles.
Boost is available to both free and paid Grindr users, and can be purchased at any time.
Purchasing a Boost
To purchase a Boost*:
- Click on your profile avatar, or the lightning bolt icon from your grid.
- Select “Boost me”
- Once redirected to a payment confirmation screen, confirm your payment details, and your one hour of Boost will begin immediately.
While Boosting, both your avatar and your Viewed Me icon will be encircled in green. Tapping on either of these icons will display a countdown of the remaining time on your Boost. Once you’ve purchased a Boost, you won’t be able to cancel, and your profile will return to normal after the full hour has elapsed.
We won’t notify anyone else when you’re Boosting, but your distance from others will be shown on your profile as normal. If you would prefer to Boost more inconspicuously, keep in mind you can always disable showing your distance to other profiles.
There is no limit on how many times you can purchase a Boost, so feel free to Boost your profile multiple times per day, per week – the possibilities are endless.
Pricing for Boost may fluctuate due to a variety of factors, like the current demand for Boost in your location. Plus we’re always testing out pricing for new features to make sure we’re hitting a sweet spot.
We want everyone to have the best experience possible on the app, and any price fluctuation is intended to keep your grid balanced for Boosters and non-Boosters alike.
*Currently, you can have Boost and Right Now active on your profile at the same time.
Boost reports
At the end of every Boost session, you’ll receive a Boost report. An icon will appear in the upper right-hand corner of your Viewed Me page, and tapping on it will reveal the following stats from your most recent Boost:
- The number of profile views you received
- The number of chats you received
- The number of taps you received
Your Boost report will not contain any chats or taps you’ve sent, or show the number of profiles you’ve viewed while Boosting. If you don’t have Grindr open at the moment your Boost ends, we’ll send you a notification letting you know your Boost report is ready.
Boost reports are completely private to you, and aren’t visible to anyone else on Grindr. These reports will also be included in the export you receive when you download your Grindr data.
