General login troubleshooting
- Ensure that you’re using the latest version of the Grindr app (Android/iOS).
- Check to see if you’re in a region where Grindr is blocked due to government restrictions.
- Force close Grindr.
- Restart your device.
- Enter your email address with lowercase letters (your login is case-sensitive!).
- Using a VPN? Turn it off and reopen the app.
- Wait 30 minutes and try again (we know how technology can be!).
Third-party login troubleshooting
Facebook login requires the use of your Facebook account email and password.

Ensure that you’re using the latest version of the Grindr app (Android/iOS).

Check you have logged in with the correct Google account. You may need to log out to be able to log with the correct credentials.

Force close Grindr.

Important Note: If you created your account through a third-party service (Apple, Google, or Facebook), email and password credentials cannot be manually added to your account later. You must continue to use the original third-party method to log in.
Device login troubleshooting
iOS
With an iOS device, you can use fingerprint identification, facial recognition or your Apple ID to log in to Grindr.
- Check that Touch ID or Face ID is active.
- If Touch ID or Face ID doesn’t work, enter your Apple ID login details manually.
- Check that all login details are correct.
- Force close Grindr and then reopen it.
Important Note: If you created your account using an Apple ID, please note that it is only accessible on iOS devices. You will not be able to log in to an account created with an Apple ID on an Android device.
Android
- Check that all login details are correct.
- Change your password.
- Force close Grindr and then reopen it.
- Clear your Grindr storage.
If you’re still having trouble, please submit a request to us with a screenshot of the error message, time that the error occurred, and your IP address at the time of the error.
Inactive account deletion
Per our privacy policy, all Grindr accounts with no login activity from the past two years will be automatically deleted.
Though we’re unable to reinstate deleted accounts, feel free to create a new account with your previous login credentials.
