One way to create a Grindr account is via an email address and a password. That said, accounts created through third-party platforms (such as Facebook & Google) do not require you to signup using a personal email and password. Instead, your credentials for this third-party platform will become the login details for your Grindr account. If your device has been lost or stolen, please get in touch with us here.
Changing your email
If you are ever wanting to update the email address that your Grindr profile is linked to, you can. It's super simple, here are the steps:

Select your Profile.

Select Settings (⚙️ ).

Tap on Email.
- Enter your new email address and your current password.
- Select Change Email.
Notes:

You'll need to sign back in to perform this change.
- You can try resetting your password to regain access or you can send us a support request.
- If you see a combination of letters and numbers instead of an email address, this means that you created your account through a third-party platform (Facebook, Google, or Apple ID), and you won't be able to change your email on Grindr.
Changing your password
Did you log out and now can't remember your password? It happens! Here's how to get back on the app:

Open Grindr.

Select "Forgot Password?".

Choose to verify your account with either email OR a phone number (both email & number need to be associated with your Grindr account).

If you choose email:

Enter your email where indicated and tap Next.

A password reset email will be sent to your email address.

Select the link attached.
-
Create a New Password and select Reset Password.

Enter your email where indicated and tap Next.

If you choose a phone number -- this will only work if you created the account using a phone number:

Enter your number (select your country code).

A verification code will be sent to your phone.

Input verification code.
-
Create a New Password and select Reset Password.

Enter your number (select your country code).

If you choose email:
- Log back into your Grindr profile with your new password. 🙂

Password requirements:
- Must be at least 8 characters (this minimum is 10 in some countries, so add characters if you're unsuccessful)
- Must contain at least 1 number
- Must contain at least 1 lowercase letter
- Must contain at least 1 uppercase letter
- Must contain at least 1 special character from: !@$%^&#?/-(){}[]
- Must have a strength level of “Good” or “Fantastic!” (our password strength meter goes from Very Weak > Weak > Good > Fantastic!)
- Password reset links have an expiry time of 3 minutes. If you did not find the password reset email, please check your spam.

You will NOT be able to reset your password if you created your account using a third party platform.
- You can see what method you used to create your account in your Grindr Settings. If you signed up via a third party, you’ll see a User ID listed. If you signed up with an email address, you’ll see that email address listed.

Updating your password
Feel like updating your password? No problem! Here’s how:

First, tap on your profile icon.

Tap the ⚙️ icon to open the settings menu.

Tap on Password.

Enter your current password and the new password.
- Select Change Password.
