You can manage your notifications to make sure that you only receive message pop-ups from Grindr when you want it. Here's what you'll find in this article:

Managing device notifications
Managing your notifications can be done globally at the device level.
iOS
- Go to your device Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Select Grindr.
- Toggle the Allow Notifications on or off.
- If you allow notifications, you can adjust further: You can toggle on or off: Sounds, On-Screen Alerts, Previews, and more!
Android
- Go to your device Settings.
- Select Apps (Application Manager).
- Tap on Grindr.
- Check or Uncheck the "Show Notifications" box at your convenience!
Managing notifications in-app
You have more granular control over your notifications within the Grindr app as well.
Within the Grindr app for iOS:
- Tap on your profile.
- Select settings next to the gear icon.
- Scroll down to the Notifications section.
- Here, you can toggle on/off notifications for received Taps, Sound, and Vibrations.
Within the Grindr app for Android:
- Tap on your profile.
- Select the gear icon on the right top corner.
- Locate "Notification Settings" and tap on it.
- You can "Enable or disable" the notification for sounds or vibrations.
Do Not Disturb (Android only)
If you're using an Android device, you can also set specific time periods for snoozing notifications, or setting "Quiet Hours."
To snooze your notifications:
- Go to your Profile Settings.
- Scroll down to the Notifications section.
- Tap on Do Not Disturb.
- Tap on Snooze Notifications.
- Choose the time you want the push notifications to be snoozed.
Note: Snoozing your push notifications will prevent you from receiving them until the time you set up has finished or you turn it off manually following the same set of steps.
To enable your Quiet Hours:
- Go to your Profile Settings.
- Scroll down to the Notifications section.
- Tap on Do Not Disturb.
- Toggle Quiet Hours ON.
- There you will decide on:
- Start time
- Ending time
- How often will the setting repeat
- If already set up you can turn all settings off by toggling the option OFF
Note: This function will prevent you from receiving Push Notifications during the time that is activated.
Do Not Disturb Troubleshooting
If you are having issues, try following these Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check you have the latest version of the app - Grindr for Android.
- You will have to force quit Grindr.
- Clear your Grindr storage.
- Reinstalling is the very last resource we advise you to follow: Deleting Grindr from your Android device.
