Users have the ability to opt out of behavioral advertising on the various Grindr Properties. Please note you'll only see the ability to opt out, if this options are enabled for you; Not all regions or locals currently have behavioral advertising enabled.
Please follow the instructions below on how to opt-out of behavioral advertising, depending on the Grindr platform that you are on:
If you are logged into your Grindr account on the Grindr Services (i.e., Grindr App or Grindr Web), you can opt-out by accessing the Consent Preference Center at any time depending on the platform:
In the Grindr App, access the sidebar menu (swipe from the left) > Go to “Settings” > scroll to “Security and Privacy” > “Consent Preference Center” > Advertising (or Sale) category
You may opt out of behavioral advertising at the device level on the Grindr App:
For Apple iOS mobile devices: Go to "Settings" > Privacy & Security > Tracking > toggle “Allow Apps to Request to Track” to the left OR toggle “Grindr” to the left. If you opt out within the device level settings of an iOS device, your Consent Preference Center choices may be informed by these settings. Please visit Apple's website for more information on App Tracking Transparency.
For Android mobile devices: In the Grindr App, access the sidebar menu (swipe from the left) > Go to “Settings” > scroll to “Safety & Privacy Center” > “Privacy” > Tap "Advertising settings" > Scroll to "Behavioral Advertising" > Toggle to allow or toggle to the left to opt out of behavioral advertising.
In other Grindr website domains (e.g., www.grindr.com, www.grindr.com/blog) and on the Grindr Web landing page (not logged in), when the cookie banner first appears, click on “Consent Preference Center” or “Manage Preferences” > Advertising (or Sale) category
Please note, that opting out does not mean that you will not receive advertising while using the Grindr Properties. You will not see interest-based advertising.
Please note if you are not logged into your Grindr account (e.g., on the Grindr Web login page) or if you are on a platform that doesn’t maintain the ability to login (e.g., www.grindr.com, www.grindr.com/blog), your request to opt-out of behavioral advertising will be linked to your browser identifier only and not linked to your Grindr account information because the connection between your browser and your Grindr account is not known to us.
