We’re testing something new on Grindr, and we’re pretty excited to share it with you. A small group of users now has early access to Grindr MatchMaker, a beta feature designed to help you connect with people you might not normally see on your grid.
What is Grindr MatchMaker?
MatchMaker is a new in-app experience where a real Grindr MatchMaker account helps introduce you to other users when there’s mutual interest. Its purpose is to help you discover compatible matches in a straightforward way.
Here’s what to expect:
- Beta testing MatchMaker: Only a select number of Grindr members are invited to try MatchMaker. You’re among the very first to experience it.
- A unique profile you can identify: The MatchMaker profile is easy to spot — it has an “M” in its profile photo, a special Grindr mask icon next to its name, and you’ll also see the “Grindr HQ” subtitle underneath the MatchMaker name. Any chat from MatchMaker shows up in a white chat bubble, instead of the standard blue chat bubble. If you don’t see these identifiers, it’s not Grindr MatchMaker.
- How it works: MatchMaker may ask you a few questions about your interests and preferences. Then it will suggest Grindr users who could be a good match.
- Introductions are always optional: You’ll only be connected with another user if both of you express interest in being connected. If you’re not interested, just let MatchMaker know and it will move on to find other potential matches.
- Your privacy matters: We'll honor your wishes to keep your conversation with the Matchmaker private if you communicate that to us.
- Your feedback is important: Because this is a beta test, your input is super valuable. If you’d like, you can share feedback directly in your chats with MatchMaker.
