Why do I now have to create an account?
We have introduced accounts to make it easier for our users to manage their profiles as well as to increase the security of our platform.

I already have a Grindr profile why am I being asked to create an account?
A Grindr account is different from your Grindr profile. Our new account system allows you to link your existing Grindr profile to a secure email address and password. This will keep your Grindr profile safe as well allow you to use your account on multiple devices.

Creating your Account

Can I create a Grindr account on my device?
Currently only iOS and Android users can create a Grindr Account.

How do I create a Grindr account?
Check out this support article to find out just how easy it is to create a Grindr Account on your device. Please note: If you have not created a Grindr Account already you will need to provide us with an email address and password to create one. Your Grindr Account details are not your existing Apple ID, Google Play or Grindr Support Helpdesk login details.

What information does my Grindr account store?
Your account will store your Grindr profile, favorites, blocks and your subscription if you are a Grindr Xtra user.

Managing your Account

Can I manage my Grindr Account?
Yes! You can manage your account in the app. Check out this support article to find out how.

Can I sign into multiple accounts on one device?
No. If you want to sign out of one account you will need to remove and re-install Grindr and then sign back into Grindr with your other account details. Please Note: Your chat history will be lost during this process.

I've received a new device and need to transfer my Grindr profile. How do I do this?

I have forgotten my password, how do I get back into my account?
No problem, simply tap “Forgot Password” at the login screen and enter your email address. We will then send you an email to reset your password.

I do not wish to receive marketing emails. How can I stop receiving them?
If you forgot to uncheck the 'receive marketing emails' checkbox at Account registration. You can unsubscribe at anytime by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email we send you.

Using your Account on Multiple Devices

Can I sign into multiple devices with my Grindr account?
Yes! You can sign into as many devices as you like with your Grindr account.

Can I use my account on my Android & iPad?

Common Issues

Why when I open Grindr have my profile and favorites disappeared?
This is perfectly normal. As soon as you set up an account your profile and favorites will re-appear. DO NOT remove and re-install Grindr before you create an account, or you may lose your data.

When I try to chat to someone all I see is a blank yellow screen, why?
Do not be alarmed, this is perfectly normal when our servers are very busy, please remain patient, the Grindr Account Registration webpage will load and you will be asked to create an account. If you need further information, please check out this support article.

After creating my account it appears I have lost my profile and favorites. Can I get them back?
First of all, we are sorry this has happened, but please do not worry. Simply submit a support ticket so we can help you to retrieve your profile and favorites.
