Follow the steps below if Grindr has trouble connecting on your BlackBerry device. First, make sure you're using the most current version of Grindr; it's always available for download in the App World.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server
If your device is connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Grindr may be blocked by your IT Policy. Please contact your company's IT Administrator for further details.
A weak or choppy network signal can cause connection trouble in Grindr. Follow the instructions below and test Grindr with each type of connection.
1. Open Grindr 2. Press the Menu key > Edit Profile 3. Press the Menu key > Settings 4. Set Start-up connection to BIS-B 5. Press the Menu key > Save
Grindr for BlackBerry requires an active BIS (BlackBerry Internet Services) data plan to work properly. If you're able to use BlackBerry Messenger on your device, you're all set. If you do not have a BIS data plan, please contact your wireless carrier for more information.
If Grindr works with a Wi-Fi network and not a mobile network (3G, etc), try adjusting the APN settings on your device. They're specific to your mobile carrier.
(OS5 users) 1. Open Options on your device 2. Click Advanced Options > TCP
(OS6+ users) 1. Open Options on your device 2. Click Advanced System Settings > TCP IP
We've listed a few APN settings below. Check to make sure they're correct on your device.
